Sorry, it's been a while since I used the program. Or you may have to raise the merit of the audio codec so TMPGEnc will use it. Or you may have another format TMPGEnc doesn't understand or just a bad file. After trawling thru several ‘help’ forums I have downloaded Virtualdub/virtualdubmod and Nandub with a view to separating out the audio. I have tried creating audio only and this also has no sound. It can even detects automatically scene changes and flag them as reference to help your video editing.ĭid I mention that TMPGEnc supports subtitle editing? Its new subtitle editor contains several options and settings to blend texts in your video. Check the file with Gspot or MediaInfo and see if it has MP3 VBR audio. I am using TMPGenc Xpress but when I create the MPG there is no audio. The simple user interface is easy and intuitive and doesn't require specific knowledge or special skills to use. TMPGEnc is flexible, since it can be a simple cut-editor tool or the most powerful video encoding for its filtering and effects.

In most of the codecs which are supported by TMPGEnc, there is a full support for several forms of surround sound and HD-video. The big benefit of encoded videos is that they most of the time are smaller in size without losing quality. TMPGEnc will give you the freedom to take most video format and encode them to the following formats: DIVX6, QuickTime, AVI, H.264, MPEG4-ISO, DVD-VR, DVD-Video, HDV cameras and much more. Follow the steps: start, input, output and encode to get your video encoded fast and easy.

dll file with the IMA codec, use the one in the system32 folder.Would you like to encode your videos in four steps? Then, TMPGEnc is what you need. Repeat the procedure for each codec for which you need support This should re-install the codec (for the IMA ADPCM you will need your Windows XP CD, and for both you will need to restart your computer before the codec works). Ive tried with different movies and I get the same thing. I have all of the settings correct but when it finished encoding Theres no sound in the movie.

You need to install them one by one so select each in turn and click ‘Next’. Im using the latest version of TMPGEnc to convert avi files to mpg to make them into vcds. You can install what you require from here. Amongst it you should find Microsoft ADPCM Audio Codec and IMA ADPCM Audio Codec (the two that I was missing) and many others. Now you should see a list of audio codec’s. If you see a warning about logo compatibility, just click 'Continue Anyway'. Select it and click ‘Open’.Ĭlick 'OK' in the 'Install From Disk' dialog box. In here you will find the mmdriver.inf file. Select '(Standard system devices)' and click 'Have Disk'.Ĭlick 'Browse' when you get the 'Install From Disk' dialog box and open the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Select 'Sound, video and game controllers' and click ‘Next’. Click ‘Next’.Ĭhoose 'Yes, I have already connected the hardware', then click ‘Next’.Ĭhoose 'Add a new hardware device' (at the bottom of the list) and click ‘Next’.Ĭhoose 'Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)', and click ‘Next’. Good luck and a look forward to your reply.Ĭhoose Start > Control Panel > Add hardware. Also, I think the problem may have arisen from an incompatibility issue between VirtualDub and TMPGEnc - are you running these programs too by any chance. It seems a lot of people have this problem and no-one seems to have a 'good' solution. If successful then I will post this solution around a bit since I spent almost a week tearing my hair out and trying to find a solution to it. Please post and let me know how you get on. My surround sound was finally working for everything, but my WMV HD videos had no sound output. I noticed on the receiver, it didn't report anything for sound.

I only know this works for XP Pro as this is the version that I had the problems on. I went to test my Blu-Ray rips that I had converted to WMV HD using TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0, and the video started to play, and I was like, wheres the damn sound. No promises that it will work, but it has for me.
